{"id":4847,"date":"2026-06-22T13:41:11","date_gmt":"2026-06-22T13:41:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/racingsport.xyz\/?p=4847"},"modified":"2026-06-22T13:41:11","modified_gmt":"2026-06-22T13:41:11","slug":"wsl-clubs-to-provide-alcohol-at-games-following-successful-trials","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/racingsport.xyz\/?p=4847","title":{"rendered":"WSL clubs to provide alcohol at games following successful trials"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><b class=\"ssrcss-1xjjfut-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">All Women&#8217;s Super League clubs can offer alcohol to supporters in the stands from the start of next season.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A rule preventing the consumption of alcohol in view of the pitch has been removed by the league&#8217;s governing company, WSL Football.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">It follows two seasons of successful alcohol trials in the WSL and WSL 2 and received the shareholders&#8217; approval.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">During the 2025-26 season, 20 clubs took part in the trials at 29 venues and across 190 fixtures in England&#8217;s top two tiers. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Clubs do not need to supply alcohol if they do not want to and can choose whether to provide it at some of their playing venues and not at others. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Everton and promoted Charlton Athletic confirmed on Monday they would continue to supply alcohol at games.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The Sporting Events Control of Alcohol Act prevents drinking alcohol when facing the pitch at men&#8217;s football matches at professional level in England, Scotland and Wales.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>All Women&#8217;s Super League clubs can offer alcohol to supporters in the stands from the start of next season.
