England international Freya Godfrey has signed a new three-year contract with London City Lionesses.<\/b><\/p>\n

The 21-year-old was a standout performer in their debut Women\u2019s Super League season, earning several call-ups to the England senior squad in 2025-26. <\/p>\n

The forward initially joined on loan from Arsenal in January 2025 before securing a permanent move to London City last summer.<\/p>\n

She was voted the Players’ Player of the Season with six goals and four assists as London City Lionesses finished their first WSL campaign in sixth place.<\/p>\n

In the previous season, Godfrey played a key role as London City won the WSL 2 title and secured promotion to the top-flight for the first time. <\/p>\n

“I’m made up to sign a new contract at London City. I’ve loved my time here so far,” said Godfrey.<\/p>\n

“We have world class players here, people who have won World Cups, Champions League titles and know what it takes to win. I’m training and playing alongside players I looked up to when I was growing up.<\/p>\n

“A big part of a young player’s development is game time and having been given time, I feel I’ve come on in leaps and bounds on the pitch and also off the pitch.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
