BBC Sport Scotland Senior Reporter in Boston
The Scotland tops and kilts are starting to be seen around Boston, normally taking shelter under the nearest tree.
As expected, it is hot and very humid and those hardy souls making the trek across the Atlantic will need well hydrated over the next few days.
As has been reported in other host cities, Boston does not – at least on my initial short stroll around – seem to be a place gripped by World Cup fever. A few locals have even asked what we’re doing here! In a very pleasant way, to be clear.
As the Scotland fans continue to pour in, the residents of Boston will soon got a proper sense of what the World Cup is all about.
